Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Command Observer ("Service", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using it you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18 you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
- You are responsible for keeping your linked Discord or Steam account secure. If your third-party account is compromised, revoke the Service's access immediately.
- You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users.
- Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Distribute malware, spam, or any code designed to interfere with the Service.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
4. Community Content
Users may create communities, post content, and invite other users. You retain ownership of content you create, but you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and distribute that content as necessary to operate the Service.
You are solely responsible for content posted within your communities. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.
5. Public Community Profiles
Community administrators may enable public structure, which makes a community's ranks, awards, and qualifications pages visible to unauthenticated visitors. By enabling this setting you acknowledge that the listed ranks, awards, and qualifications will be publicly accessible on the internet without requiring a Command Observer account. Member-identifying information (names, roles, and assignments) remains accessible only to authenticated members regardless of this setting.
6. Sign In with Discord or Steam
Accounts are created and accessed exclusively via Discord or Steam OAuth. There is no separate email-and-password login. By signing in through Discord or Steam you authorise us to receive basic profile information from those platforms as described in our Privacy Policy. You remain subject to Discord's and Steam's own terms of service.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon termination your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
8. Intellectual Property
The Command Observer name, logo, and software are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks or proprietary materials.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
